In today’s class, we had the opportunity to work through some workshops with Rich McCue! It was actually super interesting and engaging!
I have had some previous experience working with iMovie, but the little tutorials were great refreshers. In high school I was on the press team for our Model United Nations club and we had the opportunity to not only practice photography skills and write articles but also create fun yet professional videos on iMovie. The green screen feature on iMovie is something that I hadn’t used before, so as you could imagine I was pretty excited to fiddle with it… also, I mean come on, it’s chickens underwater. It makes me oddly very excited.
Today as well, I was introduced to Screencastify, which is super cool and very useful and relevant to use in the classroom. Though I’m still not quite sure how to use all the fancy features, being able to screen record on your computer is super neat. I also had so much fun messing around with the h5p extension on WordPress! I needed some guidance to help set it up, but once I got that figured out it was fun to explore all the features and interaction types.
Below is the interactive video I created during class! Just me exploring what I could do, making use of the fantastic chickens underwater video.
I will definitely try to make use of this feature throughout the term because it’s actually so cool!! I’m not exactly sure how quite yet, but I am determined to find a way––probably in a more *productive* context haha.
